Thermos Stainless King Food Jar Review

Thermos Stainless King Food JarIf you want your food or soup to be hot, then you need to get this Thermos stainless king food jar. I have two of these 16 ounce Thermos king food jars with a model number of SK3000MBTRI4 at our house.

I didn’t use it for myself. I was planning to use it for my kids’ school lunch for bringing hot food to school instead of only sandwiches, but that is not the case. My husband ending up using it to bring food to work.  Either way it is being used instead of sitting on the cabinet collecting dust.

He is using both of the jars and making me to make lunch for him and not to mention, he doesn’t wash them after each use. So both of the jars are taking turns being used by him. He is using it to bring soup to work most of the time. The Thermos king food jar works very well to keep the soup very hot for a very long time, I would say for about 7 to 8 hours.

I have to be honest, I still haven’t used it for cold beverages or food even though I have owned these food jars since September 2011, so I can’t comment on that. Maybe I will give it a try later.

Thermos Food Jar Features:

Now here comes the part of what this food jar can do to enhance your daily life.

  • The container can be used for either hot or cold things. It is your preference of use.
  • It is made available in two different colors and they are Midnight Blue and Cranberry. I have two of these jars in Midnight Blue. I didn’t think my boys would like the Cranberry because it looks like red.
  • The jar can keep the cold items for 9 hours and hot items for 7 hours.
  • It is stainless steel in the interior and exterior which makes it unbreakable. I have dropped the jar once on the floor when I was trying to wash it. You know, the soap is slippery. It can be easily dropped  if you are not careful. Nothing happened to the food jar. It is still in perfect condition.
  • It has a 16 ounce capacity. If you think it is not enough room for you then you can get a bigger one with a 24 ounce of capacity by clicking here.
  • It is made with high quality material and is 100% BPA-free.
  • The mouth is wide making it easy to fill in food content.
  • It includes a handy folding stainless steel spoon so you don’t have to bring a spoon with you each time.
  • The lid is big enough to use as a cup to hold the food or drink.

Tips On Using The Thermos Stainless King Food Jar

Thermos king food jarHere is the way I use my food jar. First, I boil some hot water from the kettle because I don’t like using hot tap water from the sink and I don’t think ours is hot enough.

Second, I pour the hot water into the food jar and close it with the cover for about 5 minutes. Third, I empty the hot water out and then start putting the soup into the food jar. When that is done it is good to go. Of course you will still need to put the cover back.

Thermos Stainless King Food Jar Review

As of today July 1, 2013,  the average  rating for this food jar is 90% with over 1000 customer ratings. I hope you are happy with these numbers. As for me I am giving it a 100% rating, and 100% is being the highest.

Pros:  I like this food jar in a compact size that makes it very easy to bring it along with you. It keeps the food or soup in a hot condition without any leaks. It is durable and has an affordable price.  I might buy a third one if I ever need it. The clean up is very simple even though it requires hand wash only.

Cons:  I don’t have any bad stuff to say about this Thermos king food jar. I guess if I have to say something, I wish it wasn’t hand wash only so it could be washed in the dishwasher. But I don’t mind washing it by hand, and besides the cleaning up for this Thermos king food jar is very simple. I hand wash most of my kitchen items because I want them to last longer.

Bottom line: This food jar is well worth the purchase and we have been using it for a while.
